Do not Pass Go! Do Not Collect $100!

Joelle asked me if I could design a fun necklace for her to wear to the Annual Crystal Ball benefiting Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Burlington, Ontario (my birthplace)....When she told me that the theme was "Monopoly" - I went way crazy and made a little line of fun resin charmed necklaces and bracelets designed around the 1950 Monopoly Board Game.
Joelle's custom piece was made of little vintage pewter monopoly board pieces, of coarse my favorite - pearls and 1950's jet crystals. Her Hubby wore vintage french white dice cufflinks.....check out the $1.00 monopoly bill cufflinks....
I had way too much fun with this one! -
Joelle, my friend - Thanks for letting me indulged my "think outside the box" nutty side :) If you are planning a party and need some custom themed jewelry, let me help you go a little crazy!

Tube Debut

When Sharon Caddy of the Canadian produced show, "Real Life" asked me if I would meet with her to do a small segment on her show - I gulped and said "yes"....I had no idea how nervous I would be. I have done quite a few written interviews, but never video! It was a growing experience and I thank Sharon and the crew for the opportunity. We filmed from Joelle's on Brant Street in Burlington, Ontario. Sharon is a smooth natrual in front of the camera and she did her best to put me at ease....a tough task - I am so glad I wore a black cashmere dress, it hid the big sweat marks I would have had! tee hee. Take a peak at the episodes that featured my segments http://www.ctstv.com/ontario/player.php?show=Real%20Life and click on May 7th and April 23rd. Sharon is wardrobed in my jewels on a regular basis - she is wearing current collection flower peices in the introduction segments of each episode. Real Life is a fun show that investigates interesting places, people and things. They'll keep you up-to-date on what's going on in the world of entertainment, and talk to some of your favorite stars! From fashion and beauty tips to home decor, and from fitness and nutrition to family fun they'll keep you current. Real Life airs on the CTS network M-F at 3:00pm and 3:30pm and Saturdays at 3:30pm only. Be sure to check it out!.....soooo fun :)

Something Blue...

These swarovski crystal drops are very special - not only are they aquamarine blue, but they are swung from precious metal clay filigree initials. L sported her and her husbands initials in each ear...a "J" scripted in silver in one ear and an "L" in the other. A little bit of royal tradition to compliment her "something blue". The bride was stunning completely in white with just this sparkely hit of blue - Beautiful! - Thank you for the honor L! We wish you and J all the best as you celebrate your first anniversary :)Photo was snapped by Amy Montgomery - a professional class act. A Drop of Rain

This vintage crystal pendant mixed with recycled African glass, biawa pearls, and opalescent ocean freshwater pearls reminds me of the first Spring rain. Clear and sparkly with a hint of color...
Joelle's has the latest collection of these long cluster pendants in many "one of a kind" combinations - Lilac, Blue, Turquoise, Aquamarine, and Lawn Green to name a few of my favorites. These look great with just about anything in your spring wardrobe, from a pretty print dress, jeans and a fabulous white tee, or classic little black dress. A definate must have for the Spring.

Special Day...Special Jewels...

J is the manager at Tuni and my personal style guru! She fabs me up, out of my sweats and always finds the right mix of function & style to suit my crazy lifestyle. Without her I would be lost in an abyss of ill fitting trousers and unflattering t-shirts. It was a total honor and compliment to design her wedding jewelry for her. Charity DeMeer shot the day and captured some great pics of her vintage gems. The four strand vintage pearl necklace was finished with a limited edition Karl Lagerfeld clasp. This piece of onyx was engraved with the initials KL in the 60's when Lagerfeld was designing for Chanel. The onyx oval never made it to production (initially intended for cuff links), and was snatched up by a jeweller who fashioned them into box clasps. This is a very limited piece, which makes it just that much more special. Her hairpieces are vintage shoe clips that I snatched while antiquing...these were pinned into J's hair. Her bridesmaids wore vintage six strand pearl cuffs with dangling bobbles from the 60's including a vintage teardrop chandelier crystal.
Thank you for the honor J - I wish you much joy in your new life adventure :)
